In 2000 the Tivoli was purchased as an investment by Mr Tony Donald, an Aberdeen businessman. Efforts by the Tivoli Theatre Trust to reach an agreement with Mr Donald to purchase the building were ultimately of no avail, and he sold it to businessman Mr Brian Hendry in 2009.
Mr Hendry has announced plans to refurbish and restore the Tivoli as a working theatrical venue. His project has attracted funding from The Green Township Heritage Initiative. For more details on The Green THI click here.
